This is my mother in law, Dorothy. We lost her in December of 2006. She was one special lady and we miss her very much.
This is my dear beloved grandmother, Effie. Mama, since you left us, we feel such an emptiness! We miss you so very much. We visit the old homestead because we still feel your presence there! Besides you'd never forgive us if we didn't take care of your beautiful garden! Please rest in peace and Happy Mother's Day!
Grandmothers Are Mothers Who Are Grand
Grandmothers are mothers who are grand,
Restoring the sense that our most precious things
Are those that do not change much over time.
No love of childhood is more sublime,
Demanding little, giving much on demand,
More inclined than most to grant the wings
On which we fly off to enchanted lands.
Though grandmothers must sometimes serve as mothers,
Helping out, or maybe taking over,
Each has all the patience wisdom brings,
Remembering our passions more than others,
Singing childish songs we long remember.
