There have been many fans of the Silver Samurai who have made the claim that, because he is Japanese, he is likely a devout Buddhist. Of course, this is very well possible, although there are at this time no comics available in which this character has made any kind of claim to Buddhism. He has never been seen practicing the religion, and it is for that reason that he is likely not a practicing Buddhist.

There is evidence to back the claim that the Silver Samurai’s main religious influence and moral values are similar to the ideology of Bushido, a system of beliefs and personal ethics followed by many traditional samurai of Japanese descent. Perhaps this is also why he took on the name “Silver Samurai” and even fashioned a Samurai-like costume to wear.

Since he was not really born into Samurai culture, Kenuichio Harada likely learned about the long-extinct group of people, became completely fascinated with their values and ended up adopting the creed and look of these traditional Japanese samurais as part of his persona. While the character is shrouded in mystery and no one knows the actual truth, this is the most likely scenario and is accepted by most fans.

Scott Summers, originally known as Slim Summers is the leader of the X-Men. Summers is actually a mutant cyclops with a battle visor with a single eye or lens that runs across his eyes, hence the name Cyclops. Scott Summers became the first battle recruit of professor Charles Xavier. Xavier fell in love with Summers’ intensity and hard work and knew that he would be a leader from the very first time that they met.

Scott Summers has few weaknesses, if any. If falling in love is a weakness then Scott Summers has been doomed. His career has been marked by many loves and relationships that seemed to rarely affect his leadership in the world of X-Men battles. His first love was with Jean Grey but when she died and was reborn as Phoenix, Summers felt that he had to move on. Summers then began dating Colleen Wing but when Jean reenters the picture, Summers begins to date her again. Right before Jean’s death, Summers proposes to Jean and she accepts. After Jean’s death, Summers quits the X-Men and tries to go in to private life. After meeting a woman named Madelyne Pryor, who had a striking resemblance to Jean, they marry and have a child.

James Howlett, better known as Wolverine, was born in the late 19th century, in Alberta, Canada, to wealthy landowners, Elizabeth and John Howlett Jr. There is strong evidence to believe that James’ real father was Thomas Logan, a groundskeeper on the Howlett Estate. James’ strong resemblance to Logan, his adoption of the name Logan, and an allusion to an affair between Thomas Logan and Elizabeth Howlett all serve as evidence. Thomas Logan also had a son, Dog, that served as a pivotal role in James’ childhood. Another character that had an impact on Wolverine’s childhood was Rose, a girl that was hired to work on the Howlett Estate and later love interest of James.

The first major event that helped to psychologically scar Wolverine was the death of John Howlett Jr. and Thomas Logan. After being thrown off the estate by John, Thomas Logan and Dog sneak back at night to take Elizabeth with them. John finds them and a confrontation arises. James wakes in time to see Thomas kill John and, in a rage, his claws come out for the first time, which he uses to kill Thomas. Obviously horrified, Elizabeth kills herself with a rifle dropped by Dog.

After this event, Wolverine and Rose are banished, finding a mining camp to work in. This is where he adopts the name Logan and earns the nickname Wolverine. They are found by Dog and, in a confrontation with Dog, Wolverine accidentally kills Rose. He then flees to live in exile with a pack of wolves.

These events show how Wolverine came to distrust everyone and choose a life as a loner. They also help to explain his difficulty in forming meaningful relationships with women, his reluctance to let Charles Xavier become a father figure to him, and his animalistic tendencies.

So you’re a comic book fan. Whether you’re opening your own comic book store and spending days on end at smallbusiness.xo or you just read for pleasure one of the greatest gifts of the 21st century have been live-action comic movies. They may not all be Marvel but here are a few of our favorite comic book movies of the last few years
Green Lantern: Sure, this one got skewered by the press but we think it’s a pretty good representation of the values of the Lantern. Ryan Reynolds pulled the character off flawlessly and the graphics were better thansome.
Spiderman: The original looks pretty dated when you watch it now but it’s got some element of excitement missing from some of the more recent films. IF you’re looking for larger-than-life characters and great action sequences, this is your flick.
X-Men: The First Class: It’s just come out on DVD but if you didn’t see it in theaters (who did?) it’s worth a view. The character development is better than in most comic book films and the computer generated stuff is second to none.

Peter Parker has been a presence in the comic universe since 1962. A high school field trip accident changed his life giving him his spider powers. An orphan who lived with his aunt and uncle, Peter at first wanted to use his new powers to make money. The death of his Uncle Ben gave him motivation to help everyone.
His new role as Spider-Man introduced Peter to many new friends and enemies. Working as a photographer he met J. Jonah Jameson, who would never become a fan of Spider-Man and his secretary, Betty Brant, who would become Peter-s first love. Graduating high school and moving on to college Peter met Harry Osborn and Spider-Man met Harry-s father, the Green Goblin. Spider-Man has worked with many other superheroes including the Avengers, the Fantastic Four, Daredevil and Iron Man. He has fought against the Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus and the Scorpion. Peter-s private life has never really stayed separate from Spider-Man. His major concern has always been to take care of his Aunt May. She introduced him to his future wife, Mary Jane Watson.
Peter and Spider-Man have evolved together over the years and will be around for many years to come.

Spiderman will always have villains to contend with, for there is no better way for him to showcase his “Spidey” powers.

Peter Parker becomes Spiderman, just before meeting, his first foe, the Green Goblin, who just so happens to be, Norman Osborn, the father of his best friend, Harry. Later, after Spiderman kills the Green Goblin in self defense, Harry becomes his enemy too, and vows to avenge his father’s death by taking over the Goblin persona, and getting rid of Spiderman, but a well-timed blow to the head renders Harry harmless, by taking away his seething memory.

Harry then introduces Peter to Doc Ock, the former Dr. Otto Gunther Octavius, a brilliant doctor who becomes changed and embittered by a failed experiment, when his atomic mechanical arms, and their nuclear core, become fused to his spine and brain. The melding process causes them to control him, and makes him resort to evil when there is a threat to remove them.

Then, there is Flint Marko, formerly known as William Baker, who becomes Sandman after escaping from prison, to see his beloved daughter, when he comes into contact with irradiated sand. From that point on, he is able to disintegrate into sand, and reunite his molecular structure into glass, at will.

Being the smartest guy is just one of the problems that Peter Parker had to face. He is in love with a girl named Mary Jane, who did not even know that he existed. Peter Parker is the ultimate reclusive introvert. He has no real group of friends, and finds himself the outsider of most social events.

When he is bitten by the radioactive spider, his teen troubles only get worst. While he was able to become outgoing, as New York-s newest super hero, saving the damsel in distress, Peter Parker was still just Peter Parker.

Spiderman was impressive and people wanted to be like him. Nobody wanted to be like Peter Parker, the guy that the professors will call upon just to show how smart he was.

Peter Parker loved his family and did not want to be a disappointment to them. So naturally, working at the laboratory, where he was bitten by the radioactive spider, was to be his legacy to them.

Aunt Mae was more than his aunt, she was his mom, and Uncle Ben was dad. Peter wanted to make them both proud of him in his academic achievement, even if it meant that Peter Parker remained a social outcast. Peter was in for a rude awakening when he was transformed into Spiderman.

Spiderman first appeared as a comic book character in the early 1960s. Since that time, he has had many love interests.

Peter Parker aka Spiderman’s first girlfriend was Gwen Stacy, whom he met at Empire State University. After becoming what many consider to be Peter’s first true love, she was killed by the Green Goblin. This became a pivotal moment in the Spiderman series and affected the course of Spiderman’s life forever. Black Cat aka Felicia Hardy first showed up in The Amazing Spiderman in 1979. Shortly thereafter, Peter and Felicia began their tumultuous relationship. After discovering her betrayal of him, Peter broke up with Black Cat and began to date Mary Jane, who eventually became his wife.
The most famous of Spiderman’s love interests is, of course, Mary Jane Watson. After being introduced by Peter’s Aunt May, Peter and Mary Jane became very close friends. Mary Jane was around throughout his relationship with both Gwen Stacy as well as Felicia Hardy. After Black Cat left for Paris, Peter was driven into the arms of Mary Jane where they began a long-lasting relationship and eventually married. The two were married in 1987 and Mary Jane Watson became Mary Jane Watson-Parker.
