When we are very young, we form a friendship that can sustain us throughout our lives ~ the friendship of our guardian angel. Remember how trusting we were as small children? We believed that our angel was there to protect us, especially when we felt alone and afraid, in the dark or when everyone else in the house was asleep. We are older now and worldly wise, yet what a joy it can be for us to rediscover our trust in that old friend. What a relief it can be to ask our guardian angel to support and protect us once again whenever we feel alone or afraid. This friendship is a gift from our childhood that we will never outgrow. Our angel is also a champion in our times of deepest need, one who will carry our prayers to heaven to make sure that they are heard. Our angel understands our needs...listens to all our prayers...is ready to intercede for us and offer wisdoms and comfort when we need it most. Each of us is blessed with these intercessors ~ we need only have faith enough to call upon them!
There are all around us and they're watching over us. There are angels in the Bible, angels in art, angel stories, Guardian angels, Entertaining Angels, Bearers of Glad Tidings, Dark Angels and you can also meet your angel!
Angels are here to guide us, guard us, warn us, comfort us, teach us or just be a friend and companion.
They may appear as other humans, as glorious flashes of light, as soft and unseen touch or as that 'still small voice' that often speaks to us in times of crisis.
Reflections of Light
By John of Damascus
Angels are intelligent reflections of light, that original light which has no beginning. They can illuminate. They do not need tongues or ears, for they can communicate without speech, in thought. They are limited in their powers: when in Heaven they cannot be on earth at the same time, and when God sends them to earth, they cannot remain in Heaven at the same time. Yet they are not captive to walls and doors; in this respect they are unlimited. When God sends them to appear to good men, they do not reveal themselves in their true shape, but in a changed semblance that men can see. As disembodied mind, they live in a mental climate and are not limited as bodies are. They do not need the three dimensions. Wherever they are sent, they are there as mind and there can take on power, but they cannot do this in more than one place at a time.

In Loving Memory of Our Son John Dion Ridenour-Marvel
John Dion Ridenour-Marvel
September 8, 1968 - January 20, 1989
John Dion Ridenour-Marvel was my only child and he was my whole life.
John was such a caring and loving person. Most children are embarrassed to show their affection to their parents, but not John. It didn't matter to John who was around, he always let us know his affections. His last words to me were, "Mom, I love you." I hear those words every day of my life.
John was killed as a result of an accidental shooting at the age of 20.
We miss you, John! There isn't a day that goes by that we don't think of you and want you back. You were too young to die as you did. You hated violence, yet that is what took your life. We'll see you again in heaven.
